Phantogram: Eyelid Movies

Another month means another new set of awesome MP3 albums for $5 on Amazon, and this month has a must-have album in Phantogram's Eyelid Movies.

I actually just recently started listening to this album again, and man is it good. This is a great example of what a complete album should sound like. Start to finish, each song is a winner. They can stand alone and work as a whole. There wont be any skipping tracks on this CD.

I first heard Phantogram when they opened for School of Seven Bells at the Ottobar in Baltimore, MD. I actually wound up liking them over the headliners that night, and love them even more now with this album. Eyelid Movies is really an extension of their self titled EP which was fantastic in itself.

Phantogram consists of only two members: guitarist Josh Carter and keyboardist Sarah Barthel, and they really offer a little something for everyone. Phantogram has an electronic/indie-rock sound with light and heavy sounds mixed with great beats. I hate comparing bands to other bands, but its kind of like The XX meets Nine Inch Nails meets The Age of Rockets done ever so perfectly with some extra spice and flare. Phantogram is one of my favorite bands right now and you definitely need to buy their album Eyelid Movies ASAP.

Other awesome MP3 Albums on sale this month include Ray Lamontagne's Till The Sun Turns Black, The Avett Brothers' I And Love And You, Sufjan Stevens' Illinoise, Bat For Lashes' Fur and Gold, and MC Hammer's Greatist Hits. Dont miss out!
